As the owner of LA Airsoft, a seven-figure e-commerce business, I experienced firsthand how disconnected and outdated traditional bookkeeping can feel. I was constantly switching between selling channels, accounting software, and bank accounts — trying to piece together a real-time picture of where my business actually stood.
Most bookkeepers didn’t truly understand how e-commerce works — and my financials reflected that. Cash-basis accounting was great for taxes, especially being able to expense inventory costs immediately, but it completely distorted my margins, actual COGS, and overall profitability. I never had a clear, day-to-day view of my true financial position.
